NEWS FLASH
July 9, 2007
We are very excited to announce that the Huntington Society of Canada (HSC) is partnering with the Huntington Study Group (HSG) to provide one or two substantial awards to ‘test experimental treatments that show promise of providing demonstrable symptomatic benefit for the cognitive (intellectual), motor, behavioral or weight maintenance problems facing patients with manifest HD. It is anticipated that such research will provoke interest among commercial entities to further develop the treatment for HD’.
A Request for Proposals detailing the timeline and requirements is below for download. Important deadlines are listed below. Completed applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by a committee of experienced scientists and clinicians jointly appointed by the HSG and HSC.
Deadlines:
Optional letter of intent due: Aug. 15, 2007
Deadline for full proposals: Nov. 1, 2007
We hope that both the HD Researchers and the HD community share our enthusiasm for this RFP initiative, and we look forward to receipt of many interesting proposals!
