Beginning in 1999, the Huntington Society launched an ambitious new research programme called NAVIGATOR.
Building on our past achievements and our determination to pursue promising new avenues in HD research, the NAVIGATOR programme will help to focus Canadian expertise in the life sciences on the momentous challenge of defeating Huntington disease.
When fully implemented, the NAVIGATOR project will cover the full continuum between the laboratory bench and the patients bedside. The important initiative represents the Huntington Societys commitment to a brighter future for everyone whose life is touched by HD.
Theres no doubt in my mind that the Huntington Societys new NAVIGATOR project will be a formidable weapon in the fight against HD. This is just the sort of initiative which will enable the Canadian research community to reinforce and enhance its leadership role in the fight against genetic disorders, and to discover new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Huntingtons disease.
