Our
Champions of Hope monthly giving plan
|
| |
| If
a one-time donation at the end of the year is difficult to make,
you might consider making monthly donations. Recently, a student
from Alberta joined our monthly giving program. He makes 12
monthly donations using his credit card. This allows him to
contribute regularly and in a meaningful way to the fight against
Huntington disease. You can make monthly donations with post-dated
cheques, automatic withdrawals, or through your credit card
account. For more information, contact Ann
Wipp. |

Our
Living Legacy
|
| |
| Contributions
through life insurance and bequests are extremely important
in the fight against Huntington disease. To find out how to
name the Huntington Society as a beneficiary in your will or
life insurance policy, contact the Society and ask for our Planned
Giving package, or contact Isla
Horvath directly. |

| Do
you give to charity through the United Way at work? Did you
know you can designate the Huntington Society of Canada as the
recipient of your donations? |

Healthpartners
Contributions
|
| |
| Do
you work for the federal government? If so, you can choose to
support Healthpartners, and direct your Healthpartners contribution
to the Huntington Society. |

| Corporations
are inclined to support charities in which their employees are
interested or involved. Does your employer have an employee-driven
charitable donations plan? Ask your human resources office about
your company's charitable donations strategies. In some cases,
corporations prefer that requests for funding be presented by
employees. Contact Dino
Sophocleous for more information or for assistance in developing
a proposal. |

Corporate
Volunteer Acknowledgement Programs
|
| |
| Some
companies make donations to organizations for which their employees
volunteer. For example, we received a donation of a computer
from IBM, because a retired employee volunteers for us and submitted
an application on our behalf. The Royal Bank also has a volunteer
recognition program; if an employee volunteers for a charity
for 40 hours per year, he or she can apply for a grant of up
to $500 through the Dollars for Doers program. If you
work for a company with this type of program, contact Dino
Sophocleous for help
in submitting a request for support. |

| Our
Shining Stars: The Huntington Society's Tribute Wall |
|
| The
Society's Tribute Wall depicts families looking up together
at the night sky. The sky is filled with golden stars, each
bearing the name of someone whose life has been touched by HD,
or who has made a great contribution to the Huntington Society
of Canada. Our Shining Stars provides families and friends an
opportunity to honour the Shining Stars in their lives, while
contributing to the Society. For more information on the Our
Shining Stars Tribute Wall, please contact Jen
Love. |

|
| Our
Family Funds |
|
| The
Family Fund program allows families to make a long-term commitment
to the fight against Huntington disease. Participating family
members pledge funds for a period of several years, to ensure
the ongoing success of the Society's research, services, and
education initiatives. For more information on the Family Fund
program, please contact Dino
Sophocleous. |
