AGF Group of Funds is a loyal partner in the fight against Huntington disease. Each year, AGF Group of Funds is a lead sponsor of the Huntington Society's major Toronto fundraising event, the "Monte Carlo and Silent Auction." The company, its President and CEO, Blake Goldring, and staff are deeply committed to supporting the Society.

The Society's partnership with the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) continues to accelerate at a feverish pace. BARC is involved with the Huntington's Indy Go-Kart Challenge and this partnership has become explosively successful, energizing and inspirational. In 2001, the BARC Indy races brought in over $36,000 to support the Society. Our partnership with BARC has also ignited volunteer activity that has become a tremendous benefit to the Society. The BARC Indy has captured the interest of many racing fans in the BARC membership and some of the most spirited challenges in the Indy programme take place on the BARC Indy track. CB Richard Ellis has been a strong supporter of the fight against Huntington disease for many years. Each year, the company supports an annual golf tournament which raises approximately $20,000.

The Huntington Society has partnered with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to offer research training awards to outstanding young investigators. CIHR is Canada's major federal funding agency for health research, and offers pre-doctoral and post-doctoral awards in HD research jointly with the Huntington Society.

Co-op Atlantic and its member stores throughout Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Newfoundland have committed their efforts to the Society. Stores organize public awareness displays in May (Huntington Disease Awareness Month), sell Amaryllis kits in the Fall, and organize the "Co-op Fit Run." Through the efforts of Co-op Atlantic, its employees and members, people with HD and their families have been able to find both help and hope as they deal with the devastation of Huntington disease.

Cormex Research, a leading media content measurement and analysis firm in Toronto, contributes directly to the effectiveness of the Huntington Society's public awareness and media relations programme by donating staff time to quantify coverage that Huntington disease receives in the the print media, and to assess qualitatively the kinds of messages that are reaching the public.

OgilvyOne worldwide has contributed greatly to the Huntington's cause for more than five years. In addition to creating a multi-media public awareness campaign (including TV, radio and print advertisements, posters and brochures), staff at OgilvyOne worldwide have also donated their time to develop direct mail packages, to provide direction on media campaigns, and to identify unique opportunities for fundraising and media exposure.
