HSC Conference Grants

Goal. HSC Conference Grants are designed to promote Canadian expertise and international collaboration in HD science and medecine.

Amount. HSC Conference Grants are one-time only awards capped at $2,500.

Eligibility. Requests may be submitted by qualified applicants including principal investigators and HD clinicians, and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Deadline. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Grants are made on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the availability of funds. Applicants may wish to consult the Huntington Society prior to submitting an application.

Application guidelines. Application is by way of a letter which must provide the following information:

  • purpose of meeting;
  • names of organizing committee members;
  • names of invitees;
  • draft agenda;
  • draft budget, including other sources of support;
  • outcome measures.

Evaluation. HSC Conference Grants are awarded on a discretionary basis, subject to the availability of funds, following consultation between the Chair of the Research council and the Executive Director.

(a) Payment of grants. Grants are awarded in a single payment following review of the application.

(b) Overexpenditure. The Huntington Society of Canada is not responsible for any overexpenditure incurred by a grantee.

(c) Expenditure/return of funds. Any unexpended funds must be returned promptly to the Huntington Society of Canada.

(d) Reporting. The Huntington Society of Canada will receive a copy of all materials (e.g., proceedings) produced pursuant to an HSC Conference Grant. In addition, grantees will be required to provide a brief report in lay language providing highlights of the workshop or conference.
